Who Says TV Is Out of Ideas?

Houston Chronicle: Everything old is new again, so 35 years after "Urban Cowboy" became a box office hit, it is being developed into a TV show, which Variety reported earlier in the summer. And this week Fox announced that actor James Belushi has been cast to appear in the show's pilot in the part of a truck driver turned bar owner.

Seriously? Well, we can hope it never happens, I guess. Belushi did a decent job as the former Mayor of Yonkers in HBO's SHOW ME A HERO.

I find Jim Belushi's career utterly inexplicable, even given his being John's brother, and his boorish "Dad-bod-with-hot-wife" screen persona is a complete turn off for me. Let's hope in the first episode of this reboot, the mechanical bull comes loose from its moorings and kicks Jim in the head.

/Yeah, I really don't like that guy.

Deb, you and me both. I've felt for decades that Hollywood has felt like "we need to give this guy a pass because his brother died" or something. How else did he get a series in the first place. (Then again, how did Kevin James?) And doing a BLUES BROTHERS thing with him was insulting.
