Needless to say I have several bones to pick with that list. Not that is is my favorite or anything, but Hey Jude was (objectively) a bigger hit than I Want to Hold Your Hand and had a longer run at #1. I don't know the other charts they used.
It's an interesting list. I guess he used accumulated weeks from all three publications, but it's still odd. "Honey" is one of the worst songs of all time, but here's a little-known fact for you. Bob Shane, of Kingston Trio fame, was making a try at being a solo artist and recorded that song as a single a good while before Bobby Goldsboro. Shane's single sank without a trace.

I suspect there's a lot of input from the guy who put the list together. How does "Honey" get to be in the top ten??

My favorite version of "Honey" was the one the Smothers Brothers did on television.
