Hoch's "Nick Velvet" series was always my favorite, and after his death I wrote about my desire to see the thief get his own TV series. According to this, he was the subject of a French TV series and I'm thinking I should seek it out.
I'm vaguely familiar with Dr. Hawthorne, but maybe I'm in a better place now to read those stories. I think I'll track those down as well.....

I really like the Nick Velvet stories. They'd make a great foundation for a TV series.
I was always partial to the early Simon Ark and Ben Snow stories but almost all of Hoch's characters were fascinating. He was one of the greats.
