Uh-Oh

News from The Associated Press: P.D. James could hold back no longer.

The 91-year-old detective novelist said Wednesday she was glad to finally complete a long-desired project - a sequel to Jane Austen's "Pride and Prejudice."

Hat tip to Doug Potter.

I'm working on the sequel to "King Lear." Oh, and "Othello: the Musical." And a zombie book set in 16th century Venice called "A pound of flesh."

She should have held back. Wait until you're 100, OK? It's not as if there is a shortage of Austen wannabes and sequel writers.

It is a truth long acknowledged than whenever an excellent mystery writer has run out of ideas, she opts for writing a sequel to PRIDE & PREDJUDICE.
