I recently watched a dinosaur documentary made for kids in the 60s. The narrator was calling him "Rex Tyarannasaurus" (hope I spelled that correctly; if not, ah well). Now I know you're nowhere near old enough to knowingly comment on this :-), but any idea about when/how/why the inversion took place?
