"theme" anthologies were still pretty novel among sf books at the time...as opposed to idea-less "good sf stories" books such as THE BEST OF SCIENCE FICTION and ADVENTURES IN TIME AND SPACE and A SHOT IN THE DARK...and THE POCKET BOOK OF SCIENCE FICTION, a little ahead...

The second sf anthology I ever read. SFBC of course. I still dip into it.
That's a lot of pages for the money, or so it seems from the 2011 perspective. I haven't seen or read this one.
So the alternative to an "idea" anthology would be a "no idea" anthology?
