"Shambleau" one of the truly greatest sf/horror stories ever written. I read it at least once a year out of pure envy.
"Worn spacer's leathers" is a bit giggle-worthy, though.
You can bet Moore didn't write that line.
One of the greats. Every time I re-read anything by her, my admiration for her writing increases!
She and Kuttner knocked it out of the ballpark with "Quest for the Star-Stone," where 23rd Century NW Smith meets 14th Century Jirel of Joiry."Black Thirst" describes NW as wearing "spaceman's leather," maybe not quite as kinky as the blurb writer's "leathers."
Say, that looks like a younger Ted Fitzgerald on the cover...I have this one - different edition - and it's great.
