Jackie Cooper, R. I. P.

The Salt Lake Tribune: "Jackie Cooper got a Best Actor Oscar nomination at age 9, won Emmys for directing episodes of 'M*A*S*H' and 'The White Shadow,' and worked more than 60 years in show business.

But Cooper, who died today at the age of 88, will forever be known as the best darn newspaper editor Metropolis has ever known."

The first thing I think of is the Navy doctor he played on a TV show called HENNESSY. Then I think of Abby Dalton, who was also in that series. Cooper was a likable actor.

And the first thing I think of is The People's Choice, which preceded Hennesey. Patricia Breslin was the love interest, and Cleo the basset hound stole the show.

I fondly remember that show also.

Me three. When I think of him I think of Hennessy. And Abby Dalton, who made overbites very sexy.

Cooper did a lot of stuff in his day, and from what I saw, all of it well.
