Did you watch this when it aired on Turner a couple of weeks ago? Lives up to its billing as "The strangest motion picture you have ever seen!" Somebody called it "beatnik noir". Tacked on narration delivered by Ed McMahon! Marni Nixon imitating a theremin on the soundtrack! Shorty Rogers and His Giants! Ed Wood's cinematographer! Shelly Berman as a wigged out hipster! Don't miss it when it comes to a drive-in near your! Art Scott
"Buffs will recall that this is the film shown in the movie theatre sequence of the Steve McQueen version of THE BLOB (1958)."
And George Kelley needs to know that people who bought the deluxe Kino edition, with both edits of the film (with Ed McMahon and w/o), have also purchased SANTA SANGRE from Amazon.

I saw enough of it to know I didn't want to see any more of it.
Conversely, Art's details make me want to see it more...clever/stupid way to get around having to dub it for export.

Terribly cheap & pretentious, but done with an obvious love of film-making thst makes it truly compelling-- to me, anyway.
