I read the Hard Case Crime reissue of this title, and I've got to say: Great novel. Powell, who also wrote many popular mainstream novels, was an exceptionally gifted writer: compelling, funny, sardonic -- and his prose style is the real deal. My highest recommendation.

I agree. I like Powell's work quite a bit.
This was a really great book. No relation, unfortunately.
