Sad. What a distinctive voice. But The Brooklyn Bridge doo-wop? -- I don't think so, tho The Crests were. "The Worst that Could Happen" was a big hit, but I liked the followup, "Blessed is the Rain," even better.

I liked the Crests a lot. I have a "greatest hits" CD.

Major bummer. We've seen him a number of times in concert - he & The Brooklyn Bridge also did The Crests songs - and knew he'd had cancer.

"The Worst That Could Happen" was done first by The Fifth Dimension, though he had the hit with it (using the exact same arrangement).

I agree with Bill on The Crests.

I liked him in whatever band he fronted. What pipes! Another great one bites the dust. Damn.

I liked Brooklyn Bridge's version of "The Worst That Could Happen" much more than the 5th Dimension's version. I especially like the horns playing the start of the wedding march just as the song builds to its final chorus.

Sorry to hear about Johnny.
