Bingo on your three choices -- especially Bobby Darin (who is also great in TOO LATE BLUES and HELL IS FOR HEROES). As the years go by, Ricky N. works better and better for me in RIO BRAVO, too.
Mos Def is fantastic in "Be Kind, Rewind", but then, that is a wonderful little film that everyone should watch once at least. And Paul Williams in "Phantom of the Paradise" is a classic. I love the soundtrack to that film to this day.
Just saw Be Kind, Rewind last night because I love Jack Black. Silly but fun. Love your post
I agree myself, Bill. I always liked Nelson in Rio Bravo. Kid Creole I don't remember a lot about. But I remember liking Elvis in the western Charro.
I thought I was the only one who ever liked Ricky in that role. CHARRO's a Harry Whittington story.
Courtney Love was excellent in Larry Flynt vs....
How about Al Jolson in THE JAZZ SINGER ? Or Marty Robbins in BALLAD OF A GUNFIGHTER ? Or Neil Diamond in THE JAZZ SINGER ?
