A movie that is far better than the name would suggest.

It's a sleeper (in the sense of a film that sneaks up on one). I've never managed to see all of it, despite catching nearly every available Pal film at least once.

I've heard about this movie. The friends who saw it really liked it. The trailer was pretty cool.

"The scorching surface of the fireswamp that is mars." Nope, it dont get much better than that. Reading the previous comments only bolsters my long held theory that there actually is such a thing as the "robinson crusoe on mars" syndrome. i have experienced waves of it myself watching this truly terrible motion picture. It manifests itself by convincing you that the movie is actually "pretty darn good." I actually wrote a paper on it once, this bizarre black hole of psycholgical mysteriousness. My sister was the first victim that i had ever encountered. i naturally was the second, taking her advice and going to see it. it reeks to high heaven from the first instant and yet it somehow paralyzes your critical faculties while you watch. When your done you are convinced it was generally ok. The conviction lasts until the next time you catch it in mid progress during channel surfing. and you say "Oh, hey, this is that astoundingly crappy movie!...." and then you start watching it again, your critical faculties somehow smothered in the bizarre soothing balm of the movie once again. The movie was probably actually produced and sent here by martians, is all i can figure. Did i hear right that this is a george pal movie? that's impossible unless he was on rhino trank.
