Joe Hensley, R. I. P.

I just heard (from Steve Stilwell, who saw it on Harlan Ellison's Ellison Webderland) the news that Joe Hensley has died. A fine writer of both mysteries and SF. I have a feeling that few readers today know his name, and that's sad indeed.

Update: More info here.

That's too bad. I liked his books and he was a good guy.

Never met him, but heard nothing but good about him as a person. Good writer, and apparently a force for good in the world...wonder if any of his judicial opinions were significant in the sense of precedents.

Don't know about the precedents. I do know that one of his earliest novels was about racism (an Ace Single, Black is the Color of Hate.

I remember reading quite a few of Hensley's stories and enjoying them. Sorry to hear that he's gone.

I met him briefly at a Bouchercon. He was very nice despite my confusing one of his stand alone titles for a series book.
