The T.W.I.N.K.I.E.S. Project

T.W.I.N.K.I.E.S. is a series of experiments conducted during finals week, 1995, at Rice University. The tests were designed to determine the properties of that incredible food, the Twinkie.

Rice is one of Texas' premier universities. It's easy to see why. Be sure to read the haiku.

TheTWINKIES Project website is truly AMAZING. It is wonderful to see that the futrue of Aeerica is in the hands of such imaginative and talented young scientists. Who knew they were poets also? Bill, you need to post the link to the website though.

Done. Thanks, Scott.

Alton Brown, whose program is on the Food Network, recently used Twinkies in a quick and easy recipe for tiramisu. It looked pretty good but I haven't tried it.

I tried the Deep Fried Twinkies a couple years ago at the MD State Fair. Surprisingly enjoyable even though I'm not a big "sweets" fan. Even better, though, were the Deep Fried Oreos which were dusted with powdered sugar and tasted like somebody had heated up cookie dough to a molten temperature.
