Major Disaster at Chez Crider
Bookshelf collapse. Luckily I wasn't in the office when it happened, or I'd now be buried under hundreds of paperbacks, or maybe just cold-cocked by the shelves. How the computer survived, I don't know, but it did. This may slow things down around here for a while. First, I'll have to go through those stages of denial, anger, bargaining, and acceptance.

That's what you get for all that gratuitious Da Vinci Code bashing! Silas was apparently looking for you...
During the Northridge earthquake in 1994, Harlan Ellison was buried beneath a whole pile of books and had to be rescued. True.
Photos! We want to see photos!
Seriously, what are you putting these shelves up with?
Hey, they lasted for 23 years. Maybe I need professionl help. Professional shelving help, I mean.
As someone who's counting the hours before a similar incident occurs at Rancho Yesteryear--I feel your pain, Bill.
It's a message, Bill. You were meant to take 10 paperbacks and send them to each of us.
Trust me - it'll work.
That sucks, especially if any of the books got damaged! Hope not! Glad to hear the PC didn't get damaged...or you for that matter.
Again!? Didn't you have a collapse a year or two back, Bill?
Again. I need someone with expertise. Like . . . you.
In an effort to do my part to prevent further mishaps, I voliunteer to take all the Whittingtons and the JUNKIE to alle viate the weight on the shelves and to clear out space for other titles
Thanks for the offer, Scott. But no dice.
Luckily it was paperbacks and not real books that fell.
Oh gosh. I'm glad you're okay.
Gee, Bill, you could have become a legendary figure, the Charles Valentin Alkan of the blogosphere, but you had to be in another room at the time!
Art Scott
Never mind you or the books, but did any of the books get damaged? :P
