Happy Birthday, Crossword Puzzle!

The Writer's Almanac: "On this day in 1913, the world's first crossword puzzle appeared in a special Christmas issue of the New York World."

I'm grateful for this wonderful pastime. I keep a book of crosswords next to the toilet and work them when I plan to spend any time in there--if you catch my drift, and I know you do.

I have a book by my bedside and do a couple every night. Last year I had a book that was too hard and I had to copy three quarters of the answers from the back.

I took a TV Universe look at the anniversary in my blog "Inner Toob" today:

Bill, with your love of crocs, you should come up with the first "Croc Word Puzzle," maybe a word search all things crocodile in the shape of one or something.
