TMZ.com: Fats Domino, the legendary New Orleans singer and piano player who took the '50s and '60s by storm ... is dead.
Domino died in New Orleans, surrounded by friends and family, according to his daughter.
His hits were epic ... "Blueberry Hill," "Ain't That a Shame" and "I'm Walkin'."

One of the first record albums I bought was Fats Domino's Greatest Hits, and I really loved "Blueberry Hill". Still do.
The last of the originators. I put on the CD of his live Jazzfest album this morning.

Not many left now. Little Richard and Jerry Lee Lewis. The Fifties is truly almost over now. I saw Fats Domino in concert around 1957 in Wichita Falls. Those with him were Buddy Holly, Carl Perkins, LaVern Baker, and Frankie Lymon and The Teenagers. They're all gone now, and all I have are memories. Ain't that a shame.

Glad I got to see him one last time on an episode of the tv series 'Treme'.
He did a great version of My Blue Heaven, too. RIP, Fats.
I don’t think he ever recovered from Katrina. He lost so much, including his pianos. I think that truly broke him.
RIP, Fats. I’m sorry you’re gone, but at least it gives us a break down here from the wall-to-wall John Besh news coverage.
