John Ashbery, R. I. P.

The New York Times: John Ashbery, who was one of the most original and enigmatically challenging poets of the late 20th century and hailed as one of its greatest, died on Sunday at his home in Hudson, N.Y. He was 90.

Hat tip to Jeff Meyerson.

Thanks, Don. Ashberry wasn't a favorite of mine, either, but I did like some of his work that I've read, including this one.

"Difficult" and "challenging" were words used to describe his work. I do like that one.
