Gordon Lightfoot should be indoctrinated into the R & R Hall of Fame.

I saw a 2016 photo of Gordon Lightfoot the other day. He looks terrible.

Living in Michigan The Ballad of the Edmund Fitzgerald gets dragged out all the time. I hate that song. And why did Lightfoot get brought up in this post? And know he should not be in the R&R Hall of Fame. There are hundreds of artists who deserve it much better(Love, Roxy Music).

Never knew Marty Robbins covered this.

In her salad days, my (not yet) wife played this Lightfoot song constantly, driving her mother crazy. Any song that could drive that woman crazy is okay in my book.

Possibly my favorite Marty Robbins recording, along with White Sport Coat and Ballad of the Alamo. (Well, Bend of the River is right up there, too.) Connie Smith also did a great job on River of Darkness.

Yep, I love her version, too.

Oops, I meant to write "Ribbon of Darkness."
