Tak, tsk. That cover illustration near as dammit reveals the gimmick of the key alibi in the story. Bad form!
Not really one of my favorites in the Wolfe saga. I just found way too much of it to be implausible. Pretty good cover, though. (I have the 1990s vintage Bantam reprint.)
