No one could be as bad as he's been made out to be. But it's also true that most of the people he played with and against didn't like him. They liked his ability to play the game, but not the person.
I wonder if 50 years from mow we'll get a revisionist book about Dick Allen (who, whatever his faults, was never accused of betting n a game he had conspired to fix).

Obviously Cobb wasn't a sweetheart, but it seems that maybe he wasn't as bad as he's been painted.
