One of my teenage favorites. I especially loved the scenes in which Batman and Robin would be shown "climbing" up the side of a building with a rope. It was so obvious that the film had simply been rotated 90 degrees...dumb, but funny.
The LIFE magazine piece is pretty amusing to the degree it makes a quartet out of BATMAN, the SUPERMAN broadway show (unsurprisingly), THE MAD SHOW review (understandable) and...MARAT/SADE. Well, they all have some surreal aspects, I suppose...which seems to be the hook.
