Autoweek: Art Fitzpatrick, one half of the team that created some of the most eye-catching advertising artwork for General Motors from 1959 to 1971, passed away this week in Carlsbad, Calif., at age 96.
I was a sophomore in high school when my Dad and I went to the Pontiac dealer in Whittier, CA. HE BOUGHT A BRAND NEW 1962 Pontiac Catalina. God, it was gorgeous! The sales brochure had those illustrations, and I kept it for years. Wish I still had it.

I really, really loved the artwork they did for Pontiac!
Those were great ads. I miss the old days.
Me too.
