I'll bet the stories are a little different, though that first one about the wives going stepping might still work just fine. And I love that note at the bottom about detective stories.
Some years ago I sent them a poem which they published and paid me for. However, I never thought to send them a story let alone a mystery. I guess we have to think creatively about market possibilities.
Using the limited bit of information provided in the ad, I could probably write a modern version of each of the stories described. (The key is mastering the confession style.)

As I said to Michael, that story about wives stepping out might still work, and it could also be written as a crime story with very few changes.
