Is this the same William Manchester who wrote "The Death of a President," "Goodbye Darkness" and other non-fiction?

The very same.

I just started this paperback, although the one pictured is in better shape than mine. So far it seems to have kind of a Hitchcock/NORTH BY NORTHWEST vibe, as it's about an Everyman--a bit of a milquetoast, actually, who wears glasses and gets pushed around by his boss--who stumbles into some kind of international intrigue, but doesn't know why, what, or how. Interesting so far, and I'm sure there are plenty of twists to come.

I haven't read it, but maybe it's time I did.
