I read Roxanne Gay's blog once. She was bemoaning the lack of cultural activities in East Central Illinois (Charleston). She was correct but I still commented that she should feel glad she didn't live in Hoopeston (Home of the Cornjerkers) or Fisher (Home of the Bunnies).

I haven't read her latest book that is on the linked list.

Pity it took a man to mention THE FEMALE MAN by Joanna Russ, and Kate Wilhelm and Joyce Carol Oates aren't mentioned at all. But not the worst possible list.
