We were traveling through Europe on a Eurailpass and it wasn't until we saw an English language newspaper that day in Oslo ("Nixon's Last Day") that we even knew it had reached that point. I was sorry we missed the whole run up to that point.
I was between junior and senior years in high school. In the year leading up to the resignation, one of my best friends had done a big social studies project on Watergate and she called me, "He's gonna resign." I drove over to her house and we watched it, her mother was sadder than either of us.

It was quite a time. I watched the farewell on TV.
