My Dad (almost 80) used Brylcreem when I was young, then moved up to Vitalis. There was also an English product, Brilliantine (?), that he occasionally used. I can't tell you how many Father's Days in the seventies found him opening a gift of Aqua Velva or Hai Karate or sometimes both!
I often used Top Brass, which was just like Brylcreem--greasy kid's stuff. I didn't like Vitalis. It dried out and made my hair stiff for a while, then stopped working. My cousin, who had oily hair, used it. I used Wildroot when I was a preteen. I don't think I've used any kind of hair stuff since I was 18, though. Maybe some spray crap once as an experiment, a failed experiment.

Thanks, now I'll have the Brylcreem jingle bouncing around in my head all day.
You have to be a geezer if you still use the word "dapper."

Actually, I once had a bottle of Hai Karate. It lasted about a decade.

It's probably a collectible now. And I think it's time to bring "dapper" back.

I'm glad he got the Good Stuff for Father's Day.
That--and Planters Honey-Roasted Peanuts. Nothing but the best in our family!
As a dad, I'd have been happy.

I haven't used anything in years. Groom & Clean was the last one.
