One more important lady that should have been mentioned is Lise de Baissac. She and her brother, Claude worked for British SOE. French born, they were both parachuted into France, where they worked in the Underground. Lise operated a Safe House in Poitiers, France, next to Nazi Headquarters. I spent three years in Poitiers, where they now have a museum of Nazi history in France.

Edith Piaf should get a mention, too.
