I didn't think the review by Claire Harman on Silver: A Return to Treasure Island by Andrew Motion was bad at all, really, unless there was more, not quoted. I read a book with this title without the "The" when I was about 12 and loved it. I tried to find it once to reread, and it seems to have disappeared from the face of the earth.

I enjoyed Silver.
Zoe Heller's takedown of Salman Rushdie was great. Fatwa none withstanding, he always comes across as a pompous ego-maniac to me.
