I've seen a lot of these, and I liked most of them quite a bit. I'm glad to know that Vince Keenan and I aren't the only defenders of #27. The top 50 underrated films of the 90s
This is a really strange list as it contains some really good films like Tremors (a love letter to 50s Scifi movies) and Dark City (on Ebert's list of best 10 movies of the year)as well as a lot of really bad ones
It isn't possible to underrate #50. I agree with Stan that there are some really good ones like ONE FALSE MOVE . But there is a lot of real crap like #27.
There are some great movies on the list--including some of my favorites like That Thing You Do, Red Rock West, One False Move, and Office Space. My husband would agree with #27, but I'll pass. As for The Cable Guy, it needs to be forgotten!
Coincidentally, we saw Waterworld last week. We enjoyed it, but its seriously alt-history feeling was undercut at the end by the raving Dennis Hopper, the bizarre anti-development sermon and the Exxon Valdez jokes. And, God help us, how did Kevin Costner ever become a leading man?
If almost anyone had ever actually underrated TREMORS or any number of these films, I might have more sympathy with the attempt to rescue such piles of stupid as BATMAN AND ROBIN and GATTACA (the latter one of the most overrated films of the '90s, and here as well...oh, my, yes, G was a key spark in the debate about genetic engineering...and THE BAD NEWS BEARS in the matter of preteen profanity).

#27 FOREVER! I will defend that movie to my dying day.
I am definitely in the #27 Club. Rarely a month goes by that I don't ponder a sea voyage to cure my brain cloud.

I like #27 better than You've Got Mail and Sleepless in Seattle. Fun performances by both Ossie Davis and Abe Vigoda.

Lots of great films here. A truly great film can often only be judged years later. #27 is charming.
#27 gave me the second worse headache I've ever had watching a movie. The worst was ERASERHEAD.

I've seen Jackie Brown and That Thing You Do. I don't get out a lot. Come to think of it, I saw those at home.
