Because there couldn't POSSIBLY be any controversy over a list on that topic!
(As a general rule I prefer most of Hitchcock's films from the 1950s over the stuff he produced after he signed his contract with Universal - a very dumb decision in my opinion. The 1930s version of "The Man Who Knew Too Much" over the 1950s version because of the active role the mother took in that one. And "North By Northwest" over "Psycho" any day and twice on Sundays.)
