These folks have an unlikely definition of "unlikely"...And Philip Roth's first arguably alternate time-track story would probably be the satiric OUR GANG, the first thing I read by him, when it and I were pretty new.
I got a kick out of OUR GANG, but I was no longer new when it appeared on the scene.
That was me, btw. My fifth grade teacher wasn't too sure I should be reading a Roth novel in class.
