Here on the north shore of Lake Pontchartrain, from midnight until 8:00 AM today, it was thundering so badly the house was literally shaking. One of my kids is in school in Natchitoches and they were having severe weather alerts and tornado watches all night.
Hail is better than those tornadoes that hit Dallas. But, Deb's right: the weather is very weird. We had record-setting 80 degree temperatures a couple weeks ago.

We were all over the Houston news last night. Some parts of town got a lot of damage. We were lucky.
