Peter Falk, R. I. P.

ABC News: "Actor Peter Falk, who was best known for his role in the TV series 'Columbo,' has died, according to a statement released by his family. He was 83."

I'll always picture him yelling, "Serpentine, Shelly, serpentine!"

Loved the guy. Columbo, for sure. Also all his films with John Cassavetes. Irreplaceable.

First time I remember seeing Falk was in A Pocket Full of Miracles playing the pessimistic side-kick for mobster Glenn Ford. Loved that character portrayal and all the others I've seen. He was great with Cassavetes. Falk "owned" Columbo just like Leo McKern "owned" Rumpole. Great actor. RIP.

Sorry to hear this; "Columbo" was one of my favorite shows back in the day. I actually thought Falk might be a little older than 83--perhaps, based on my own age and the ages of my parents, I don't think of 83 as being "that old" anymore.

I was also saddened to see a link further down on the page that said Glen Campbell has Alzheimer's.

Sadly, Falk also had Alzheimer's.
