I'm a Winner

Every year I buy ten tickets in the annual Lion's Club raffle. I never expect to win anything, but this year I got a prize. A 42-inch Vizio 3-D TV set. So the question is, what do I do with it? There's no place for it here. I suppose this is a good problem to have, and now I can stop saying I never won anything.

Bill,

Bring it by my house. I'll get rid of it for you. No need to thank me. Happy to help.

Re-gift to a loved one or a friend.

Really you might offer a local posting (Thrifty Nickel or maybe Craigslist. Sell it as new, and for local pickup you can just meet near a local landmark.)

Maybe: keep it, enjoy!

See if you can trade it for a conventional TV. Really, the experts I know say that 3-D TVs are more trouble than they're worth. As in: "can I afford enough glasses to have more than one guest come and watch it."

Yeah, the 3D feature makes it something of a white elephant unless it can be viewed in 2D. I loike the idea of giving it to a VA hospital. I'm sure Goerge Kelley can advise you how to get a fat tax deduction from it, too.
