This is one of Elvis's best movies--primarily because he was actually paired with a famous actress, not some no-name starlet, and so the King had to play up to her level. I love the peppy song & dance scenes and the day-glo colors (although that water-skiing scene is really too much).
BTW, I watched this on TCM not long ago and I realized that the actor who played Elvis's romantic rival later went on to play the mayor in "Animal House."

I can remember seeing a "sneak preview" of this (remember those?) before another movie back when it opened. How could it go wrong with that cast?
Jeff
When I was in college, we went to those sneak previews every Sunday night.
You can't go wrong with Ann-Margret even if the rest of the cast is cardboard dummies.

It's a sad commentary on me, but I've seen all of Elvis' movies. This one's my favorite.
You mean you like it more than "Girls, Girls, Girls" or "Clambake"?
Even more than Kissin' Cousins.
I agree. Your movie can't ever be too bad !with Ann-Margaret on board
