Edwin Newman, TV Journalist, Dies at 91 - Obituary (Obit) - NYTimes.com: "Edwin Newman, the genteelly rumpled, genially grumpy NBC newsman who was equally famous as a stalwart defender of the honor of English, died on Monday in Oxford, England. He was 91."

He was a great one and will be missed. They don't make 'em like that anymore.
So true, Richard. I feel lucky that I could see him every night on the news out of New York. He play reviews could be especially witty.
