The author must not read much in the field. There are some good choices here, but, much as I like Robert Parker, I wouldn't include Blue-Eyed Devil among even the best of the year. I felt it was the weakest of the Cole and Hitch novels.
BLUE-EYED DEVIL?? That's not even the best of Parker's westerns, much less one of the ten best westerns of the decade. I was glad to see Edwin Shrake include in the list, though.

Think about it: these are also the top 10 Westerns of the millenium.
