San Jose State University said Tuesday that Molly Ringle of Seattle was the grand prize winner of the 2010 Bulwer-Lytton Fiction Contest.
In her entry, Ringle describes a 'lengthy, ravenous kiss' between two lovers: 'Ricardo lapping and sucking at Felicity's mouth as if she were a giant cage-mounted water bottle and he were the world's thirstiest gerbil.'"

I won Dishonorable Mention in the Bulwer-Lytton three or four times, but I've gotten out of the habit of submitting as of late....
I used to buy the regular Best of... (or was it Worst of...?) Anyway I always get a kick out of reading them.
The World's Thirstiest Gerbil? Brilliant imagery!

The overall winner is a good choice, but entirely too many of the runner's-up and subsidiary winners are too easy, too winking. I can do worse than that!
Lawrence, you're needed, clearly.
