It's About Time

The Associated Press: ABBA, Genesis among new rock hall inductees: "The 1970s Swedish pop group ABBA is dancing its way into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, along with Genesis, Jimmy Cliff, The Hollies and The Stooges.

The list of the next class of inductees was released Tuesday by the hall, which is based in Cleveland."

Hat tip to Scott Cupp.

Very, very happy to see Genesis included. Now, we have to hope for a Gabriel/Collins/Hackett/Banks/Rutherford reunion at the concert next year.

I like ABBA as well as the next former Disco Dolly, but doesn't it seem as if the Rock 'n' Roll Hall of Fame is becoming a little less, well, selective as time marches on?

At least Iggy and the Stooges are in. But still no Roxy Music.
I hope you are being facetious about Pat Boone.

Well, I think that's Bill's point. Connie Francis not exactly a rocknroller either.

They are trying to be wide-angle, though album sales clearly still play a roll.

I've been reading Crider-penned books & noted Connie Francis listed (and a lot of books and writers). I've been an Iggy Pop fan since college days, Ferry/Roxy Music slightly earlier... a friend had suggested a few such CD's to me!
