Derringer Update

Edward D. Hoch Memorial Golden Derringer for Lifetime Achievement goes to Clark Howard.

I can't think of a better choice.  Fine writer, great guy.

Clark Howard is one of the best ss writers and nicest guys I know. He always said I looked like Roberto Duran. Years after Doran retired I ran into him and he said, "Bob, what happened? You got fat?" I said, "So did Roberto Duran!"

Not too shabby at novels, either. I should probably do DIRT RICH for FFBs some week, or read the other one I've picked up, if I can dig either out of the moving boxes...

Wow, I didn't know anybody but me and Judy remembered Dirt Rich. Clark wrote that one when he was in the Southwest Chapter of MWA, and we both read it.

I have the Finnish translation (yes, it was translated and looks an awful doorstopper), but I still haven't read it. Been meaning to for almost ten years now. Howard's short stories are great.
