They're Not Human, But They Want Human Women!

11-foot gator pays a visit to Westwood Lakes home: "TAMPA - Thumper isn't the only creature 'twitterpated' come spring time.

Errant gators looking for love in all the wrong places – such as Belinda Donaldson's front porch in Westwood Lakes – are too.

'Right now, it's prime season,' gator trapper Mike Fagan said. 'Big ones are moving, looking for girls.'"

Bill, I've begun to forward your gator updates to the Queen of Noir (Vicki Hendricks) ... I used to find these articles (not as many as you) and send them as my very genuine excuse for avoiding Florida ... I've had alligator nightmares since I was a kid ... I still get them ... terrifying dinosaurs that they are ... I look at those things and freak out. They're mutants ... and they're coming to get me (I just know it)!

My fascination with gators goes back a long way, probably to my first reading of V. I don't mind gators in books, but the real ones are truly scary. So you're right to be afraid.

My most recurring gator nightmare goes like this: I fall asleep on the couch and wake up to find gators swarming all over the floor and my dog (Rigoletto--a fierce Bichon-frise) is hoping from one to another while they try snapping at him. I can't get him close enough to the couch to grab and my heart is racing ...

Last year I read about them snatching joggers off running paths alongside Florida canals. I go research them and learn they go all the way north to the Carolinas.

I'm going to a Blues Festival in Cape Fear, North Caroline end of July ... more nightmare fodder, no doubt.

They're everywhere, Charlie. Everywhere.

Sometimes it's easy to confuse one with Stilwell, of course.
