A.P. Moving to Halt Use of Articles on Web Sites - NYTimes.com: "The Associated Press and its member newspapers will take legal action against Web sites that use newspaper articles without legal permission, the group said on Monday, in a clear shot at aggregators like Google.
In a speech at The A.P.’s annual meeting in San Diego, William Dean Singleton, chairman of the group, said, “We can no longer stand by and watch others walk off with our work under misguided legal theories.”"

Oh yeah, you are so busted. . .
Yep.
Bill, the snippets you post are Fair Use. But you might have to point to even more papers/sites which are actual AP members/clients.
We'll see how it shakes out. Should be interesting.
Gee, since nobody is reading newspapers, they should be glad for the added coverage.
AP wants your blog bucks. You know, the billions you're raking in from Blogger. (Well, maybe Google is. I'm amused that Google nudges Blogger up the engine paths, so, for example, my citation of BOTTEGHE OSCURE READER is the #1 link for the BOR and something like fifth for the magazine itself.)(More tellingly, my jackleg obituary for Algis Budrys also ran very high.)
I haven't yet "monetized" my blog and put those little ads after every post. Maybe later.

They'll have to pry the books from my cold dead fingers.
