The pic they chose for "Landline Telephones" would be unrecognizable by many of the children today because it had a rotary dial--anybody remember those?
Aside from daily printed newspapers and record stores, my attitude toward the disappearance of these things would be "good riddance." Especially cursive. I haven't written in cursive in about 20 years, and whenever I encounter writing by other people in cursive, it's usually an unreadable mess.
If they don't teach cursive, what will the alternative be? Block printing? Some other form of longhamd. I don't care how far in the future you look, there are times when people are going to need to write by hand.
FWIW, while my cursive is passable except my signature by intention, when hand-writing I print for much easier reading, by others particularly. It's not notably slower.

What I really miss is the tube-testing machines they used to have at the drug store.
