Judy Update

There hasn't been one of these updates in a while because there hasn't been much to report. Judy's been doing chemo and getting tested, blah, blah, blah. But I'd hoped for some good news today. We went to see Judy's doctor, in high hopes that he'd say the chemo was finished and that all was well. It didn't work out quite that way.

There is, as they say, good news and bad news.

The good news is very good. The doctor says that Judy is in "complete remission."

The bad news is that he wants her to take two more rounds of chemo as "insurance." He says that it's not even a close call. She really needs to do it. The next treatment will be on Monday. This knocks a good bit of the shine off our Christmas season, as Judy will still be feeling pretty rotten on the 25th. The usual festivities will have to be cut back, but we'll still do what we can to celebrate the holiday.

Thanks as usual for all your prayers, good thoughts, and encouragement. We believed we were at the top of the hill, but there's still a little more climbing to be done before we get there. We will get there, though. I'm sure of that. Meanwhile, we'll try to dwell on the good news.

No hill for a climber. I await the ultimate good news with eager anticipation.

That is excellent news, Bill, as unappealing as the near future might be. As always, may the future only improve...and perhaps this round (and the next) will be less devastating. Thanks for letting us know.

This sounds like the formula for a good post-Christmas even if the day itself isn't. A great New Year for all.

It might not be the best holiday, but the extra chemo will be worth it if it keeps Judy cancer-free. Dwell on the good news, because it's very good, indeed. And both of you have a happy holiday!

Bill, the "good news" is the best news there could possibly be, so if the other is the cost to make sure things stay that way...I guess you gotta do what you gotta do.

We're both thrilled it's worked out this way.

Good news is the best that it can be. We'll keep praying for the discomfort to come. Celebrate as you can!

Thanks, everybody. We'll be over the disappointment soon enough, I think, and then the celebrating can begin. Well, maybe we'll wait until the last chemo treatment.

I rejoice with you that the doctor says she is in remission! That is truly excellent news!

While I could wish that the chemo could wait until "after" Christmas . . . my prayer will be that when the next set of test results come in - that she will be both cancer free and finished with chemo!

Blessings,
Mary Ann

The last "insurance" rounds of chemo are now fairly standard procedure. Tough to hear, but Judy will bear up fine. It's basically good news, and I'm thrilled to hear it.

Thanks, gang. We're slowly getting adjusted to the idea of more treatment. Not looking forward to it, though.
