It Was 40 Years Ago Today . . .

. . . on June 4, 1965, that Judy Laverne Stutts and I were married in the Central Baptist Church in Thornton, Texas. Did I ever imagine then what it would be like to spend a lifetime with someone? Heck, no. I never thought past the next five minutes. Which, by the way, is about how long it seems since that picture was taken. I wonder if the next 40 years will go by as quickly? Posted by Hello

Wow. I must say Judy doesn't look all that different now. You, on the other hand, look better now.

Bill,
Congrats to you and Judy on your anniversary. 40 years is quite an accomplishment these days and demonstrates to all the young people what committment and respect is all about. Here is to next 40.

Wow, congratulations! It must have been those cool Buddy Holly shades that sealed the deal for Judy!

See, Jeff? I told you those glasses made me look like Buddy Holly.

Congratulations! Did Judy know that she was marrying not only you but also thousands of books? Beauty and tolerance is a rare combination.

By the way, the 1965 version of me wants his glasses back.

Happy Anniversary, Bill & Judy!

Stutts, eh? She have any kin in North Carolina? My Aunt Brenda married a Stutts and a finer family would be hard to find.

Don't know of any Stutts connections in that part of the world, JD, but around here we'll claim kin to anybody.

Happy 40th to you and Judy. Even when one finds the love of their life, a marriage that long is also the result of a deep commitment and mutual support of each other's well-being and dreams. My best to you both.

Congratulations to Judy and you. When half of today's marriages end in divorce, you two can glory in your 40 years together. Just keep on keepin' on.
