Something similar to this was shown to me by some video production companies near me; it's hard to beat compiling a list of war movies out of films that are only tangentially about the subject. Gilmour del Toro's bizarre vision at the time was a huge success and a welcome diversion from the obvious type of war during the Spanish Civil War.
