Rolling Stone: Leonard Cohen, the hugely influential singer and songwriter whose work spanned five decades, died at the age of 82. Cohen's label, Sony Music Canada, confirmed his death on the singer's Facebook page.
So sorry to read that. I've always been a huge fan, ever since I read "Beatiful Losers" two years before he released his first album. "Sisters Of Mercy" is one of my favorite song and his performance is unforgettable.
I think he knew he was near the end--and not just because he was 82. In the recent New Yorker article--which has a beautiful elegiac quality--he spoke of spending time getting his "papers in order". God, 2016 has really been a sh*tty year, hasn't it?

He will be sorely missed. Was just listening to his newest cd yesterday.
I've listened to the CD several times. It's impressive.
For my money, next to Mr. Zimmerman. The second-best songwriter of the second half of the 20th century...

Yes, he wrote some wonderful lyrics.
